Please tell us about your background, younger ambitions, interests, education.
I was brought up in central Middlesbrough and went to one of the worst rated schools in Cleveland (as it was then). I always loved solving problems and my ambition was to have a good job.
How did you get to where you are today, successful women in business? How did you gain your skills and knowledge to do what you’re doing?
I was lucky to have been selected for a residential course on engineering which shaped my future. After a week’s work experience at my local council I applied for an apprenticeship there and the rest is history. The apprenticeship allows my to gain skills in the workplace and knowledge studying.
Who would have thought I would now hold Tees Business Women Lifelong Inspiration and European WICE Awards Lifetime in Engineering awards !
