Charting a New Path: Lewis’ High Tide Journey

In 2014, Lewis joined High Tide’s summer scheme, a decision that would shape his future in unexpected ways.
During the programme, Lewis gained hands-on experience working on container ships. This opportunity gave him a unique insight into an industry he had never considered before.
At the time, Lewis had already planned to study engineering at college, but his High Tide experience opened his eyes to the diverse opportunities available on his doorstep. Beyond just career direction, the programme helped him grow personally, instilling confidence, drive, and a sense of purpose as he worked towards his goals.
Today, Lewis is an AV at PD Ports, serving onboard the MO Duchess. Looking back, he credits High Tide with introducing him to an industry he would never have discovered otherwise.
Lewis’ story is a proof of the value of the High Tide scheme and the impact it can have on young people. He hopes more individuals take advantage of this opportunity to gain experience and unlock their potential.
