We’re very proud to have unveiled our new video recently, which marks a turning point in the Foundation, as well as celebrating our success and encouraging more young people to get involved with us.
News and PR
The video was lovingly made by local film production company and recent new member, Ithica Films, who are based not so far from us at Boho One in Middlesbrough.
We launched the short film at our very first annual High Tide Fundraising Ball, where we used it to highlight the achievements of the Foundation so far. With cameos from youngsters who’ve taken part on a number of different programmes undertaken by High Tide, the video follows participants on their time with the High Tide Foundation, visiting businesses across Teesside.
The message that runs through the video is so important, exhibiting just how valuable work experience is within our community. With a continuation of amazing apprenticeship and work experience placement opportunities from all of our industry members, we are able to offer young people on Teesside the chance to experience the world of work while deciding in which direction they’d like to pursue their career.
With unemployment so high within our region, we strive to change attitudes and make a difference by demonstrating the opportunities available within the industries that sit alongside the River Tees. Being a totally independent Foundation which is managed by a board of trustees from both industry and education, we have attracted over 60 member companies in three years and are now working with 30 schools in total. We are so proud of our achievements over this period, including engagement with over 1000 students, and providing 200 weeks’ worth of work experience for 100 young people in 50 different companies; including once-in-a-lifetime voyages to Russia and Lithuania!
