Prismatic Thinking Join Forces with High Tide

We’re pleased to announce that yet another industry member, Prismatic Thinking, has been welcomed on board to support the High Tide Foundation through its many programmes.

Industry Insight

This week, our trustee, Neil Appleby of Rye Hills School in Redcar, went along to Prismatic Thinking to present them with their membership certificate, to confirm their pledge of support to the Foundation.

Prismatic Thinking, based at two separate locations in Stockton and Newton Aycliffe, are a team of business psychologists that are in the business of understanding people in the workplace. Using their knowledge of psychology and human behaviour, they help organisations find out what makes their employees tick and what drives them towards optimal performance.

They discovered us after researching how best to become involved in helping with career guidance within schools and colleges in the Tees Valley area. After approaching Kim Upex, our membership coordinator and discussing ways in which they could add value to the High Tide Foundation, they realised their potential in becoming an industry member.

Tony Slimmings, Managing Director of Prismatic Thinking said of their membership. “As a firm of Business Psychologists, it is important to us that our CSR policy utilises the skill sets of our experienced and new employees. Because of this, we hope to raise awareness among students of business psychology as a career option, including the benefits and the pitfalls; as well as offering something completely different to that of other industry members on Teesside.”

Offering a number of work experience placements to schools where individuals have expressed an interest in studying psychology at a higher level, they will provide day-to-day experience to students of the skills they require to make it in the field. Additionally, they have also offered the services of their business psychologists to assist with local career choice assessments and workshops, which will be mutually beneficial to all involved.

Kim Upex, Membership Coordinator said, “We can’t wait to work with Prismatic Thinking and we’re very grateful to them for pledging their support to the Foundation. We believe that their area of expertise can offer our schools and students a unique experience during their placement. It’s not often that young people interested in psychology will get a first-hand experience of what it’s like to work in this sector. We know that the individuals that get selected to embark on their work experience journey with Prismatic Thinking will gain valuable insight to prepare them for their future careers.”
