Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Elise Bunn, I’m 19 years old and I attended Middlesbrough College studying Graphic Design.
How did you find out about the High Tide Foundation?
I found out about the High Tide Foundation through a college email advertising them and I was interested in finding out more.
What programme did you take part in and what did you think about your High Tide experience?
I took part in the Summer Scheme during my break from college and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
What impact will your High Tide experience have on you?
I am a keen graphic designer, so I knew that I wanted to gain work experience in the Graphic Design industry before I left college. This was to assure me that Graphic Design was definitely the career I wanted to pursue in the future.
What did you learn during your High Tide experience?
The High Tide Foundation have given me a really valuable insight into the Graphic Design industry and allowed me to see what a Graphic Design job would involve on a day-to-day basis. It helped to me to realise that Graphic Design was the correct pathway for me and that I’d like to progress into design as a career after an apprenticeship.
I’m currently undertaking a Design and Print apprenticeship in Hartlepool, which I’m really enjoying. I believe that High Tide has given me the opportunity to learn skills that I will use in my future career.
What were the highlights of your High Tide experience?
The highlight of my time doing the Summer Scheme with the High Tide Foundation was having the opportunity to experience two different placements for companies in a variety of fields, giving me the chance to look into a different career path other than just design.
