The river trips, which can be combined with a short tour of the Teesport, run on Friday mornings starting at Teesport, travelling up to the Tees Barrage and out to the wind farm off the coast of Redcar (weather permitting). The vessel, High Tide Adventure, is crewed by two people, along with a guide from the Harbour Master’s Office to narrate the trip. The boat can accommodate up to nine visitors – with a minimum of one adult member of staff for each group of 8 young people. We also welcome groups of staff from local schools who wish to learn more about Teesport and High Tide’s work.
“It was an amazing opportunity to meet the harbour master and his team and learn about the management of the river. This has been so educational, not only to the students but also the teachers as I myself had no idea of what really went on down here. This is great knowledge that I can take back with me and share with the other students.”
All our programmes are FREE to our education members.
